In the design of this lens, Leica have included three aspherical elements, one of which is a dual meniscus aspherical element. This helps to keep the lens amazingly compact whilst maintaining excellent sharpness. If you require more zoom then Panasonic’s Extra Optical Zoom feature allows enlargement without losing quality when 7 megapixel or lower resolution is selected. Maximum Extra Optical Zoom varies between 11.3x and 16.9x depending on resolution and aspect ratio selected.
